weekend highlights

Saturday we had t-ball practice. We only had about half the team show up, but the kids that were there got in some good practice. After practice we went to the park and let the kids run and play until they couldn't go anymore. We ate fajitas for supper and then after the kids went to bed T and I started a new fitness/workout program. It started out with a fitness test... I found out quickly that I cannot do a push up anymore. I did my work out thinking it was fun, not really difficult and I could do that every night, no problem. Until I woke up on Sunday. I am still sore. Our goal is to just get fit again. I need to gain some endurance and I'd like to tone my muscles.

On Sunday we went to church and as we were walking to the nursery Rose suddenly figured out where we were going and started saying, "No church! No church!" and started crying. So... we took her to the service and she lasted about 25 minutes (twenty minutes longer that usual). Right after the sermon started she whipped out her attitude and out we went. I stalled taking her to the nursery and sat in the fellowship hall and listened to the rest of the sermon while Rose ate some peanut butter crackers. Then we went in the nursery and she clung for dear life to me.

The church we are attending has a private school and we were able to meet the principal and see the kindergarten classroom after church. D starts school in the fall and our public school option is not exactly impressive. It's standard. But I don't want standard. I don't want "good enough". I graduated from public school and when I had D I was sure it'd be fine for him, too, but as we get closer to him starting I'm becoming more and more hesitant to send him into that system. I could write an entire post on this, so I'll stop with that.

We ended the night with pizza and watching bad TV. I'll let you guess what we're watching. The hints: it comes on Sunday night. There is awful hair being sported by a main character. The women are incredibly annoying. The only reason we are watching for one person and they were not on last weeks episode.

Oh! And T fixed my ride yesterday (the Jeep) so now I have the freedom of having my own vehicle again. I think tomorrow I'm taking the kids to the park. Because I can!
