chirp chirp

Well it's been quite a while since I've blogged... my laptop started breaking key by key and is soooo slow. I'm trying this out on my kindle.

The kids started school again! Rose is in kindergarten and that's really strange to me still. Sam is home with me and is still adjusting to not having her brothers and especially her big sister to play with. Anyhow school is going well so far. The kids are happy and like their teachers.

I recently told Tim I wanted to eventually run a marathon and about  10 minutes later he had a race for me to train for. I haven't been running regularly; I basically skipped out on May, June and July...and August. I started Monday with 2 miles. I'm using Hal Higdon's training plan. I started on week 6 since that will give me exactly 24 weeks to the race. I'm trying to only focus on the daily run and not get overwhelmed looking ahead and wondering if I'm crazy for thinking I could ever run 26.2 miles.

I will have to write about D's first hunting experience soon! I'll leave you hanging with that.

 Rose loves making tents, camps and forts so one day this week she turned an empty laundry basket into a cave. It was a pretty tight fit!
 All afternoon and evening on Friday Sam thought this was the funnest thing to do. It made walking a little difficult, but she was happy and I'd rather that than the alternative.
 After a long wait Ryan finally got new glasses. He looks so handsome and was so excited about them.
We finally had some good weather this week (sunshine!) and so I ran outside while the kids were playing made D let me take a picture of him next to our pink jasmine. He is so tall.

A Moment Captured {week 1/52}

This week we were back to school and work and normal life after a great Christmas break. I've decided to do something a little different to get back to blogging. I'm going to start a "52 project" where I take a picture of the kids each week to sort of document them for a whole year. Maybe I'll even get some good frame worthy pics out it.

Rose really enjoyed our stop at Half Price Books while we were in Austin this week.

Sam always insists on snuggling right when I decided to get something done, but everything else can wait.

 D made an airplane one afternoon out of a empty paper towel roll and it was fantastic. He then asked the grandparents and me to save the empty rolls for him. This was his creation this week. It's so detailed and we are really impressed with him. He doesn't ask anyone for help or use any type of instructions.

I caught Ry reading in the midst of what seemed like chaos. The girls were running around and D was "flying" his plane around the house while a football game was on the TV.... and I came in the living room and saw him immersed in a book ignoring everything else.
