ten happy things friday

one
When your child asks for a smoothie and you reply, "Hmm... okay, how about this afternoon when nap time is over?" and he says "That sounds terrible" in a very serious voice. I could not stop laughing, it was so unexpected!

two
Putting together a box of things for my god-daughters and having a problem fitting it into the "large flat rate box" from the USPS.

three
Speaking of spoiling the children that aren't my own. Easter gifts.

four
Still on the spoiling train, but now speaking of myself.
I won a giveaway from Kelly Jo and these gloves were the prize. Well, I must say, these are the softest gloves ever and they are lined. I'm actually excited for colder weather so I can wear them 24 hours a day. In fact, I love them so much that I'm already planning on getting some for Christmas presents. Sometimes I slip them on for a few minutes just to enjoy a little piece of heaven (in 80 degree weather.)

five
Turkey and bacon sandwiches. Specifically: bacon, turkey, lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, crispy onions and ranch dressing on toasted bread. I have no picture because I can't wait long enough to take one before devouring my favorite sandwich ever. Go forth and enjoy one for yourself.

six
You guys, D is going to be a ring bearer in a wedding in May and he has to wear a tux! A five year old in a tux. I can't wait to take a trillion pictures of him! (I think it's a tux... either tux or fancy schmancy suit he will look so handsome.)

seven
Last night T and I attended the first class to become members at our church. So, that ball is rolling.

eight
D and Ry played Legos for 2 straight hours this morning. Just think about that. Two hours.

nine
Today is my sister and brother-in-law's anniversary. I like looking back at their wedding photos and seeing the big hair and puffy sleeved dresses... ah, the 90s.

ten
Ooh, already to number ten. Sea Salt Pita Chips and Hummus. Snack time!

Have a wonderful weekend!

That Store. It's sucking me in.

Ikea. I'm on a mission to get there soon. (Without the entourage of youngsters.) I really wanted to dislike this store and I kind of do. I don't like the herding through the store, the extreme difficulty of trying to leave the store (especially if you don't purchase anything), the unhelpful "shortcuts", circular maze-ness.... But I do like the products (I think, I've never actually purchased anything). The ideas they inspire. The tidiness. The simpleness. So I present you with some things I'd like to spend our hard earned money on.

I would make this into a bunk bed by adding a mattress underneath. I like the fact that it wouldn't be very high. I'm raising some daredevils as it is.

This would be D's bedding... his favorite color is red. Currently.

Yes, they do sell cowhide rugs. Imagine it in a contemporary, modern house with just a tiny dabble of rustic touches.

Looks like that's all I have time for since the kids just found the bag with Easter stuff in it. Hopefully they won't interrogate me too much about it because, well, you try explaining "two weeks" to a three year old. It's basically like saying one trillion years. I can't begin to understand that amount of time either.
