About ten minutes after sending the kids to my mom's house yesterday so she could babysit while T and I went to our class at church, I was informed the class had been cancelled. My immediate thought was, Dang it, now I have to make supper! (I'm so selfless, always thinking of others...)
I called my mom and told her T would pick up the kids and she told me we should just go do something because the kids wouldn't be happy about leaving so soon after getting to her house. Well, okay...
T and I ended up going on a date (dinner was partially paid for with a gift certificate from Christmas given by our very thoughtful and generous friends, CLB & Holly- Thank you!!)
The picture is our plates taken in the same moment... I am an incredibly slow eater (mine is the pasta).
Dinner was delicious. We talked and laughed and had a really nice time.

After dinner we did what, I imagine, every couple does to end a date.
We went to Petco.
We found what we needed and then instead of immediately checking out we picked out the fish we would buy if we were ever to, you know, get pet fish (specifically- nemo, dory, a starfish and others). We looked at the hamsters, gerbils, rats and mice (gross, gross, gross and gross). We watched the parakeets while T told me about his that he had when he was a kid and how he would play his music really loud and bob his head and his parakeet would mimic him. And then I wanted parakeets. (But not really.)

A certain two year old I know that asks, "Guess what?" and waits for you to say, "What?" and then proceeds to tell an elaborate story that no one can understand.

Easter. Yes, it's a month away, but Easter decorations and things (even though I usually hate the commercialization of certain holidays) are in stores and I like it. Easter = Spring.

I'm helping plan a baby shower for my sister and brother in law's baby (T.J, pictured above with his favorite Aunt, me). I cannot adequately describe my happiness for them through words. And I absolutely love and adore that precious little boy.

Method Kitchen Hand Wash

(I believe you can click on the picture for a link to their page or here )
7.
The Hunger Games series. I finished the first two books and am one click away from having the third in my hands on Tuesday. I had no idea they would be so addicting.

Today is Texas Independence Day.
Y'all.
Chicken fried steak tomorrow.
Lonesome Dove marathon.

I won these gloves from the lovely Kelly Jo.
(I'll model them as soon as I retrieve them from the PO box.)
Also, you should absolutely check out her blog The Dr. and The Mrs. She's clever, funny, crafty and her kitchen makes me jealous. I imagine if we lived in the same town that we'd enjoy shopping trips to Home Depot to buy paint while drinking coffee with pumpkin pie spice creamer.

Well... I just checked our weather for this weekend and apparently I am suppose to plan a vacation tomorrow. Specifically, a Disney cruise. If the goal was to humor me then file it under accomplished.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Texas! Texas, Texas, TEXAS!
ReplyDeleteSo, what are you trying to say?
DeleteI'm glad you and T got to do the date night thing! Sounds like y'all had a good time.
ReplyDeleteYou should let D know I finally remembered to tell Pappy G to buy sidewalk chalk. In true Pappy G style, when he had to choose between a package of five or fifty-two he went with the latter. So, clearly, Pappy G plans on making your children decorate every inch of concrete within two miles. With all the chocolate/strawberry milk he gives them they should have plenty of energy. ;)
